On January 30, 2025, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Mr. Farrukh Sharifzoda received newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Malaysia to the Republic of Tajikistan (with residence in Tashkent) Mr. Ilham Tuah Ilyas on the occasion of presenting the copy of Credentials.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and prospects for expanding cooperation between the two countries in the fields of economy, trade, investment, infrastructure, ecology, education, and culture.

The parties also exchanged views on the importance of holding political consultations, expanding the legal framework, developing human resources within the framework of the Malaysia Technical Cooperation Programme , organizing high-level delegation visits, and cooperation within international organizations.
